Full ceramics – First-class aesthetics and excellent compatibility
The demands on the natural teeth or the dentition are high. The hard tooth substance is the hardest material in the human body for good reason. In addition to the high mechanical stress caused by chewing, they have to resist the bacteria present in the oral cavity. Therefore, the same demands are placed on the materials used as on healthy teeth, because they are intended to restore the function and aesthetics of lost or severely damaged teeth.
Since restorations normally remain in the body for many years or even a lifetime, the body is in direct contact with human tissue. It is therefore extremely important to use high-quality materials that are well tolerated by the patient. Biocompatible dental prostheses are generally understood to be biocompatible materials that are well tolerated by the body and are used in dental prosthetics. Organic restorations are always metal-free. These include full ceramics, zirconium dioxide and composite. Restorations made of metal or metal alloys such as amalgam, gold or titanium can cause allergic or toxic reactions on the gums or the periosteum, because pollutants from the material used can enter the bloodstream. Incompatibilities and allergies have been known for many years with amalgam containing mercury.
Restorations made of full ceramics, zirconium dioxide or similar biocompatible materials have excellent physical properties. They are characterised by long durability and excellent stability. They are therefore very suitable for crowns, bridges, inlays, veneers and dental implants – and thus also for implant prosthetics. This means that organic dentures can be attached to the implants anchored in the jaw.
Biocompatible materials look very natural and cannot be distinguished from real teeth. The colour of the teeth can be individually adapted to the neighbouring teeth. The ceramic layers are translucent, i.e. the light shines through partially. This enhances the natural look and satisfies even patients with the highest aesthetic demands.
Bio-esthetics are individually produced in our master laboratory – and thanks to the digitalization in modern dentistry – with the highest precision in CAD/CAM supported milling processes and fit exactly. The ceramic used is impressive because of its brilliance, which is in no way inferior to that of natural teeth and thus adapts itself almost “invisibly” to real teeth.
Let us advise you in our dental practice as to which material offers the best biocompatibility and the best benefit in your case and thus ensure a radiant smile – for a lifetime.
